On July 7th, 2012 the Battleship USS Iowa started its new life as a floating museum. During the opening day ceremonies, the Planes of Fame Air Museum flew a three ship formation over the Iowa. We were allowed to have our GoPro cameras on the aircraft to record this beautiful flight to and from the Iowa. Special thanks to the Planes of Fame Air Museum located in Chino, CA. for the access.
Pilots flying the aircraft are:
B-25, John Maloney & David Vopat
P-51 Mustang, Tom Nightingale
P-40 Warhawk, Robbie Patterson

Nice video clips from the GoPro cameras. I especially like the formation flying over the marine layer and the breath taking video facing back on top of the B-25. The camera was positioned perfectly to capture the P-40 and the P-51. Visitors to the battleship got a special treat viewing the planes. I am sure they will take a serious thought to attend an air show to see more of these fascinating airplanes.
Thank you George for the great feedback on this video. If we could have been in two places at once it would have been on the Iowa as these warbirds flew over head. I am sure the visitors to the Iowa got a great show.
